After eagerly awaiting the final installment, I found the ending unexpected. I really thought this would be a real curtain call for the villians, by the author really went in a different and nice direction. The characters are all the same, engaging and relatable. Plenty of action,and a very well thought out plot. The book did drag in the first third but the ending made up for it. I wasn't disappointed.

What a good read!!! Throughout the book I admit I had to stop and ask myself what the heck I was reading (in a wonderful way). Alex Marshall never disappoints, this book was definitely a unique and epic read. There was no specific characters POV's I preferred to read over others, they were all equally interesting and enjoyable. If I had to complain about anything, was a little confused by how it ended. Overall it didn't take away from the awesomeness of the book.
One of the best dark fantasy trilogies I’ve ever read. This last book is epic! Witty, humorous and with a big dose of lovecraftian monsters and many unique characters.
Very good conclusion to an interesting series. Bravo.
I could postulate on the merits of this book, but will simply say that I am an avid, if at times picky, reader of grim/epic fantasy, and rate this book as well worth your money. The narrator is one of my favorites for the audio book as well.
The finale was constantly surprising me and leaving me wanting more. My only complaint is that it's the final book if the trilogy. Highly recommend if you enjoy Joe Abercrombie.

A fantastic ending to a fantastic three book series, the author Alex Marshall wrapped up all the lose ends and made me happy and glad I read the series , and sad it was over because is was so damn good. Well done Alex Marshall.
